Life Unbolted

Building People. Transforming Lives.

Life Unbolted is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering federally impacted individuals through support, resources, advocacy, and community engagement. It works to remove barriers to successful reintegration while promoting equity, inclusion, dignity, and opportunity for individuals and families affected by the federal criminal legal system.

One of its signature initiatives is the MVRA Summit, a national convening that brings together directly impacted individuals, attorneys, policymakers, researchers, advocates, and community leaders to examine the impact of the Mandatory Victims Restitution Act and explore pathways for meaningful reform. The 2026 Summit marks the thirty-year anniversary of the MVRA and asks whether restitution has met its intended goals, drawing on research showing that restitution amounts often rest on estimates rather than proven loss and can leave people with lifelong debt and real barriers to reentry.

Alongside the Summit, Life Unbolted runs the Young Adult Initiative, a mentoring and workforce development program created and led by people with lived experience that walks alongside young adults from the earliest stages of a federal case through supervised release, and is building a Virtual HUB to connect federally impacted individuals with resources, education, services, and support networks. Its work is led by Executive Director Tanya R. Pierce, MBA.

The White Collar Support Group is grateful to Life Unbolted for its support of our mission and for the doors it opens for people rebuilding their lives after a federal case.
