About the White Collar Conference

The White Collar Support Group hosted the first-ever conference by white collar justice-impacted people for white collar justice-impacted people on October 19, 2024.

Hundreds of people gathered from around the justice-impacted community to connect and share experiences as we chart a path toward.

2024 White Collar Conference

Our inaugural conference took place on October 19, 2024 over Zoom and featured the theme, “Starting Over: Out of Isolation and Into Community.”

Below, we’ve shared our opening remarks, a fireside chat, three incredible panels and a tutorial on online reputation management.

2024 White Collar Conference Opening Remarks & Fireside Chat with GOODPLANeT CEO David Israel

We began the 2024 conference with opening remarks by group member Craig Stanland and our founder Jeff Grant to sets the tone for a morning of impactful conversations.

Following the opening, Brent Cassity, host of the Nightmare Success podcast dives into a powerful keynote fireside chat with David Israel, Founder and CEO of GOOD PLANeT Foods. Together, they explore resilience, entrepreneurship, and life after incarceration, offering invaluable insights into overcoming adversity and finding purpose.

Panel #1: “Out of Isolation”

Our first panel, “Out of Isolation,” was moderated by Bill Baroni and featured panelists Elizabeth Kelley, Erika Cheung, and Seth Williams.

Each offered unique perspectives of the difficulties and isolation they experienced in their journeys, or in representing people in these issues. Panelists offered solutions and take-ways to bring dignity, respect and success in navigating these difficult situations – vital information for everyone in our community and ecosystem.

Panel #2: “Healing Through a Supportive Community”

“Healing Through a Supportive Community” was moderated by William Sansing with Panelists Father Joseph Ciccone, Naia Wilson and Portia Louder.

Each offered unique perspectives on how finding and engaging with the various communities in their lives has helped them heal along the way.

Panel #3: “Careers and Reintegrating Into Society”

“Careers and Reintegrating Into Society” was moderated by Jeff Grant, with Panelists Kaysia Earley, Jeff Abramowitz, and Jeff Wertkin.

Each have unique perspectives of the difficulties they have overcome to have successful and meaningful careers after their criminal justice involvement. They each offer solutions and specific take-ways to navigate both business and non-profit job searches, responding to questions, landing jobs, and keeping them.

Online Reputation Management for the Justice-Impacted

“Online Reputation for the Justice-Impacted Community” was produced and presented by Drew Chapin of The Discoverability Company. It offers specific solutions and take-ways on how to reinvent yourself online and remove difficult and erroneous search results that impede your career and relationship progress.
