350th Meeting!

March 6, 2023

Please Submit Your 350th Meeting Reflection Today!

As we approach our 350th meeting on March 6, 2023 (7 Years! can you believe it?), I can’t express enough how humbled and grateful I am to each one of you who have joined us, and helped us lift each other out of the depths of destruction to the triumph of newfound lives of community and service. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

We are marking this milestone by sharing the written reflections of our members as we navigate life in the criminal justice system, and beyond. Each week, through the spring, summer, and fall we will feature member submissions on our website, in our emails, monthly newsletters, and on social media.

The personal experiences we share as we navigate our journey, and the life-long consequences (both good and bad), provide a powerful blend of useful information, insight, and healing. The knowledge gained, as we share our fears, struggles, insights and successes, helps foster our own individual revelations that bring forth clarity, personal growth and progress.

We need to hear from as many as group members as possible so we can deliver more expansive content that truly reflects our lives and will provide a blueprint for others in need of support. This is a unique opportunity to share with your Fellow Travelers and with the many of us who will, unfortunately, follow.

Your submission can take any form; a memoir, reportage, story, poem, journal excerpt or anything your imagination can muster. It should be at least 250 words, and no more than 800 words in length (no word limit for memoirs in the first-person). It doesn’t matter where you are in your journey so long as it reflects your personal experience, your observations, or examines issues pertaining to the system that are important to you personally. Posts may be edited (e.g. length, clarity, community standards, confidentiality, title) and your name can certainly be redacted if you prefer.

If you have an idea that you would like to develop into a post, but are unsure how to proceed, let us know and we’ll set up a time for a call.

Please send submissions, inquiries, or requests for assistance to Fellow Travelers Bill L or Jeff K at: info@prisonist.org.
