Center for Community Alternatives

The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) is a nonprofit based in New York State, founded in 1981, whose mission is to promote reintegrative justice and reduce reliance on incarceration through a combination of direct services, advocacy, organizing, and policy reform.

CCA works with people and communities affected by criminalization, incarceration, and community disinvestment, aiming not only to support individuals in reentry but also to shift systems and narratives that produce mass incarceration.

They operate across New York, running programs in New York City, Syracuse, Rochester, and elsewhere, and engage in legislative and grassroots efforts to decarcerate and reform criminal justice systems.
