Jacqueline Polverari was an experienced entrepreneur and professional with proven success in business and mentoring environments (social worker for 10+ years, partner in a large title company for 15+ years) when a series of poor choices led to her arrest and Federal indictment. With her husband and three children by her side, she entered into a plea agreement in with the Federal government to be sentenced for a-year-and-a-day. In September 2015, Jacqueline reported to the Danbury Federal Correctional Camp for Women where she served six months of her sentence.
During her incarceration, Jacqueline dedicated her time to helping other women in despair as a result of their poor choices. She taught business-related education classes designed to assist women in their reentry into the workforce, including accounting and GED Preparation. She successfully completed the “Getting out by Going In (GOGI)” program, Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University” money-management course, and a “Six Women of the Bible” study course. She also participated in an Emmaus group in which women shared their stories, explored their spirituality and examined their relationship with God.
Released on July 22, 2015, Jacqueline entered into the next phase of her life with a strong desire to research more about mental health, criminal justice and reentry services and programs. This passion grew as she faced the challenges of her own reentry. She dedicated herself to fixing the broken criminal justice system and to helping women prepare for entry and reentry of the Federal Prison System – mind, body and spirit.
Jacqueline founded Evolution Family Reentry Services, LLC to help women and their families who face career barriers as they re-enter into society. She is currently building resources and nurturing partnerships with professionals and businesspersons in mental health services, substance abuse recovery, employment, career placement, and the like. Jacqueline is member of JustLeadershipUSA which is dedicated to cutting the U.S. correctional population in half by 2030. She is a volunteer advocate for women’s incarceration issues with Progressive Prison Ministries, which engages in new forms of experienced and supportive prison ministry – bringing together diverse communities for survival and success before, during, and upon reentry from prison. Jacqueline speaks at Women’s workshops and symposiums throughout the country, and works to improve herself every single day.
